Sci-Fi Art: 30 Postcards!

Amazing glimpses of other worlds. Cover art by Patrick J. Jones:

Sc-fi & Fantasy Oil Painting Techniques Omnibus Released!

In 2008 Pat and Jeannie Wilshire boldly created IlluXCon, the show I'd been waiting all my life for. I decided right then to document the insights, thoughts, and Masterclass techniques used in preparation for each show, to hopefully create a book as unique to artists as IlluXCon is to me.

The result is this 212 page PDF book downloadable from www.pjartworks.com. Four years in the making it has been completely re-written based on my previous two books and includes step-by-step stages of a dozen paintings, plus advice along the way for every aspiring oil painter, illustrator and gallery artist following their own dreams....

Shock! Horror! Artist paints nude!

From the Vatican to the Met the female nude has been celebrated for centuries. But in this year of 2012...

A complaint to withdraw my artwork, 'Artemis and the Satyr' from a respected gallery has me scratching my head and asking what century is this? The gallery owner, Bill Niemeyer, stood defiant, supporting the integrity of myself and all artists to express themselves without the noose of censorship around their necks:

Bill Niemeyer: This piece was considered Vulgar by the CRC in the Carmel arts and design district and was asked to be replaced. We, as the gallery association, have found this censorship concerning. I have since withdrawn from the association and do not recognize the CRC as appreciators or aficianados of true fine art. The censorship of such a piece is a troubling and serious matter.

Art appreciator, investor and collector, Bill Niemeyer opened the "Atlas Fantasy Art House" gallery, March 2012 this year. The gallery is located on Main St., Carmel and features, along with my own work, pieces from some of the world’s greatest artists including Boris Vallejo, Greg Hildebrandt, and Donato Giancola!

Bill is also Founder & President of Atlas Film Productions LLC, a production company which focuses on documentaries and short films. The first film to focus on the Art of the Fantastic is slated for a 2013 release - Hopefully - In association and collaboration with the talented Dennis Vincent. The film will feature artists of the fantastic, myself included, and movers and shakers such as Pat and Jeannie Wilshire, creators of the yearly IlluXCon show.

"The Art of Fantasy Art: A Journey into the Fantastic" (pre-production - 2013 Release Date) A documentary focusing on the history, influences and progression of Fantasy Art as both pop culture and serious art form featuring interviews and behind the scenes with some of the biggest names in the industry as well as rising new talents.

"Our mission is to produce the highest calibre of film making possible by collaborating with only the most talented, enthusiastic and creative people in the industry. It is our belief that only in this fashion can the desired and finest end product be achieved."
